The Initial Consultation is the first step in building a clear, customized training plan for you and your dog. We travel to you for in-home private professional dog trainining. This 75–90 minute in-home session allows our trainer to assess your dog’s behavior, temperament, learning style, and environment while understanding your goals, concerns, and daily routines.
During this appointment, we will:
• Evaluate your dog’s current skills and behavioral challenges
• Identify realistic, measurable training goals
• Discuss management strategies to prevent unwanted behaviors
• Introduce foundational training concepts and clear communication techniques
• Demonstrate effective positive reinforcement methods
• Provide hands-on coaching so you begin practicing correctly from day one
This session is collaborative and educational. You will learn how to properly cue your dog, reinforce desired behaviors, prevent rehearsal of unwanted behaviors, and structure practice in a way that builds clarity and confidence. We will also discuss how dogs generalize learning, why consistency matters, and how environmental management plays a critical role in long-term success.
Because behavior is influenced by many factors including environment, stress levels, health, hormones, and past experiences, we focus on building strong foundations rather than quick fixes. Training is an ongoing process, and this consultation establishes the structure needed for meaningful progress.
At the end of the session, you will receive:
• A recommended training pathway (Private Coaching, Day Training, or Board & Train)
• A prioritized goal list
• Clear next steps
• Immediate strategies you can begin implementing
